PRAANA Charitable Allergy Asthma Clinics (PCAAC) Initiative, 2021
The PRAANA initiative was formally inaugurated by Zoom on Saturday 16th October 2021. The main objective of the PRAANA initiative is to the bridge the ‘painful gap’ in the health care setting. This gap has been preventing the poorer and less fortunate sections of the population especially in LMIC like India (Where there has been no established welfare system) are deprived of quality care and essential medications in the field of allergy and asthma. The PRAANA initiative is the ‘Brainchild’ of Dr P K Vedanthan.
The PRAANA charitable clinic is basically merged into the existing medical facility and the services are rendered to the needy on a consistent basis based upon the convenience and availability of the qualified specialist. The concept was introduced about 2 months ago by Dr PKV thro e mails to about 50 of the AA specialists who were all alumni of the training programs in India . Nearly 30 of the specialists responded in a positive manner and the drive began with full swing by the major contributions of a few persons, namely, Dr Dan Qureshi, Ms. Ranjani Vedanthan, Mrs Kamala Vedanthan, Dr Balachandra and his IT team (Mr Santosh). Ms. Ranjani was instrumental in the IT application to the PRAANA concept with formation of a very well done and effective Video, and the creation of surveys to collect data on patient care and management.
