Diploma in Allergy Asthma (DAA)
The first formal training program in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology was the 'Diploma Allergy & Asthma (DAA), initiated in 2006 by International Asthma Services (IAS) in partnership with the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Christian Medical College-Hospital, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. DAA is a 1-year long-distance education program that utilizes the expertise of local, national, and international faculty. Students hail from all parts of India, as well as neighboring countries like Sri Lanka, Kenya, Rwanda, Indonesia, and even distant places in the USA and Canada. To date, 500 doctors have graduated, and this number continues to grow.

Diploma in Pediatric Allergy Asthma (DPAA)
Partnership with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Research Center (SGHRC), Delhi INDIA IAS and SGHRC have signed an MOU to start DIPLOMA PEDIATRIC ALLERGY ASTHMA (DPAA) in the capital city of DELHI, INDIA, in January 2020. This will be the SECOND formal training program in AAI in INDIA.

Diploma Allergy Asthma Immunology (DAAI) is a hybrid course initiated by International Asthma Services (IAS), a non-profit educational organization registered in Colorado, USA, and Bharatiya Vidyapeeth, Deemed University, Pune, India. Drs. Saibal Moitra and Krishna Mohan are the advisors for the course, and the course coordinator is Ms. Janette Jayasheeli. The DAAI course is endorsed by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and sponsored by the Center for Global Health, College of Preventive Medicine, University of Colorado, Denver, Colorado, USA. This course began at the start of 2022.

This online course is a partnership of an online educational organization called Med-train in Bangalore India, Bharati Vidyapeetha a deemed University in Pune, Maharashtra India, and International Asthma Services (IAS) in Colorado, USA.

Diploma in Pediatric Sleep Medicine (DPSM)
DPSM is the FIRST training program in Pediatric Sleep Medicine In India.
DPSM is a joint program between Shishuku Childrens hospital,Bangalore, GCI from Colorado and Childrens Hospital Colorado. This was the brain child of Dr Bharath Reddy, a Pediatric Pulmonologist, Allergist, Sleep specialist at Shishuku Childrens hospital,Bangalore. DPSM is supported by the Sleep medicine group from Childrens hospital Colorado headed by Dr Stephen Hawkins along with a team of several specialists. The program has been sponsored by the Center for Global health, University of Colorado. The program will be starting in 2021 in Bangalore. |
GLOBAL ALLERGY PROGRAM (GAP) at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER)m Chandigarh, INDIA
International Asthma Services (IAS), along with the Department of Telemedicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh, INDIA, under the leadership of Dr. Meenu Singh, Professor of Pediatrics, will be initiating the Global Allergy Program (GAP) in July 2022. Dr Amit Agarwal PhD Immunology is assisting the proceedings actively. AP is officially endorsed by AAAAI and sponsored by the Center for Global Health at University of Colorado (UCD), Denver, Colorado, USA. was invited as a ‘Visiting Professor’ to PGIMRE Chandigarh for the month of January 2022. Allergy Procedure Course (APC) and Allergy Assistant Course (AAC) starting in late 2022 in Bengaluru
Allergy Procedure Course (APC) is a year-long unique course offered exclusively to trained allergy specialists, and Allergy Assistant course (AAC) is tagged along with the APC. Both APC and AAC are being offered by IAS in partnership with Med-train (an online medical company) and Bharatiya Vidyapeeth in Pune. Both of the courses are sponsored/endorsed by AAAAI and University of Colorado, Colorado, USA.

CAAS(Colorado Allergy Asthma Society) & IAS set up a Lung Center at the Community Health Partners (CHP) at Narok, Kenya in 2019
With support from CAAS (Colorado Allergy Asthma society), IAS set up a Lung Center at the Community Health Partners (CHP) at Narok, Kenya in 2019. Dr Vedanthan and Mrs Vedanthan conducted the CME-workshop with valuable assistance from Cipla for the attendees. This has helped the capacity to deliver better care to the needy patients. IAS will also be conducting clinical research involving the local Masaai tribal population at this center. Mr Itole Sunte of Narok was the local coordinator.
Allergy Asthma Awareness Month (May 2018) In Kathmandu, Nepal
IAS was very pleased to support the Allergy Asthma Awareness Month activities in Kathmandu, Nepal. IAS partnered with Kanti Childrens’ Hospital, Kathmandu under the direction and leadership of a DAA Alumnus, Dr Mahesh K Gautam. The activities included public awareness camp, march, a very well conducted all day along CME. The CME was endorsed by IAS as well as Center for global health,University of Colorado, Denver, USA. CME on Pediatric Allergies and Asthma at Sir Gangaram Hospital, Delhi, March 24-25, 2018
A two-day Pediatric Allergy and Asthma CME was conducted under the leadership of one DAA alumnus, Dr. Neeraj Gupta. The CME was very well attended. Interactive sessions as well as workshops were held very successfully. Thanks to Dr. Neeraj and his dedicated group at Sir Gangaram Hospital.

DAA 2017 batch graduation and Dr Sheldon Spector Memorial CME at CMC, Vellore on 1/18/2018
The 13th DAA graduation ceremony was held on January 18th 2018 at CMC, Vellore. Along with the graduation, an all day CME with guest faculties Drs. Hugo Van Bever from Singapore and Vinay Mehta from Nebraska, USA. The CME was open to all the DAA alumni and there were several posters at the meeting. Dr Vinay Mehta was the CME chair. At the graduation ceremony, Dr Hugo was the chief guest. Henry Claman Gold medal and Harold Nelson silver medals were awarded to outstanding performers .
Asthma Awareness Activities in Mysuru and Mumbai in 2017
Mysore Medical College& Research institute (MMCRI): Converner: Dr Savith Ramaraj, MD DAA Prof of Pediatrics,Allergy Asthma Specialist . PROGRAM: May 26th CME: “Practical aspects of asthma including GINA 2017. Dr Mahesh ,Dr Jayaraj, Dr Savitha Ramaraj did a panel discussion and attended to phone in questions in a local city TV channel, published an article on allergy asthma in children in Vijaya Karnataka, a Kannada-medium newspaper.
Mumbai: Cooper Hospital. Convener: Dr. Anupama Mauskar, Chief of Pediatrics; Respected Dean Dr. Ganesh Shinde inaugurated Pediatric Asthma and Allergy OPD with facility of spirometry and ASPT. A webinar was organized by Cipla pharma for PG students. Dr Sandip Salwe and Dr Barnali were the speakers from Pune.

- By 2020 - Established Allergy Asthma Clinics at the following locations:
- Taveuni Hospital, Island of Taveuni, Fiji;
- Medical University of Saratov, Saratov, Russia;
- Combined Hospitals, MMCRI, Mysuru India;
- Community Health Partners, Narok, Kenya.
- Early 2000s - Lung Function Laboratories with Allergy Skin testing facility at M.P. Shah Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya; Pandya Memorial hospital, Mombasa, Kenya; and, M.G. Hospital, Mahe, Mauritius.
- By 1995 - Established Respiratory lCU setup at Combined hospitals, Mysore, Sharadha Dhanvanthri Hospital; Sringerim Shimoga District, Karnataka; and, Vitalograph Lung Function machine at the Department of Physiology, Mysore Medical College, Mysore INDIA.
- In 1987 - Setting up of Karnataka Allergy Asthma Center (KAAC)in Malleshwaram, Bangalore, under the leadership of Dr. H.B. Chandrasekhar. This is the FIRST fully equipped facility with Allergy Skin testing, Lung Function testing, Audiometry, Allergy patch testing, Allergen Immunotherapy, Nebulizers, Oximeters, and Oxygen delivery.
